I recently had a major problem with my 150 when the trim started cracking which lead me to this tank swap and since I never did a build thread I thought it was time. My 150 was an aqueon 48x24x30 with Durso drain with corner overflow. My new tank is a SCA 120, 48x24x24 with herbie style drain and center overflow. I took a few pictures but it was an exhausting 16 hour swap out but I will add more later. It has approximately 100 lbs of BRS argonite sand and 100-120 lbs of live rock. Prior to the swap my tank was 5-6 years old and was a thriving mixed reef.
Tank equipment:
• Greyfish custom sump
• Greyfish algae scrubber
• Skimz 201 skimmer
• Varios 6 return pump
• Aquatic life T5 hybrid with radion gen 3 pro with diffuser
• 2 Mp40 Qd with battery backup
• Apex controller with AFS, DOS for 2 part, WXM to control radions and mp40, ATK and the ALD
Spectrapure RODI
Liveaquaria salt
Livestock:
• Yellow tang
• Yellow eye tang
• Paired Picasso and Snowflake clown
• Melanuruss wrasse
• Hawkfish
• Lyretail anthias didn’t survive the swap
Coral: Mixed reef with 7-8 sps frags, zoas, mushrooms and hammer coral
This was an exhausting process but hopefully worth it!
