I just checked for stray voltage in my aquarium and found its 120 volts. I do not get any tickling when I touch the water so it must be very small current.
Can this harm my fish? Its not relatable to a single device but each of them adds up a bit (wavemaker +40v etc). I do not have much background on circuits and electricity. What should I do?

Also the reason why I cheched is that one of my euphyllias is peeling off

So reason you don’t feel it could be because your not grounded. Maybe you are on a elevated foundation.

unplug one device at a time till you find the issue.
As I said its not a specific item, each of them adds up something between 10 and 40v. Also with nothing plugged in I get still 10v. Tomorrow I am gonna get a new multimeter as the one I have its rubbish. I dont want to dismantle the tank and end up with a null problem

Also, I noticed that pluggin in devices not in the water (e.g. led lights) adds up to the voltage as well..I am quite confused

Gfci and ground probe in sump , This happened to me before , turned out to be the heater needing to be replaced . I would actually feel a small shock when touching the water wit my fingertips

I disconnected everything and I still have the same problem with any device in any order

It took me a couple of days to figure out , slowly turned off things and checked back after a couple hours. I think the voltage doesn’t immediately leave

Ok I will try to check one item at the time when I get the new multimeter. Do you know if fish can feel this? Because I don't feel anything particular when touch the water and probably has been like that for months. I will obviously search for the cause ASAP but I want to know if it is the reason why my euphyllia is not doing well

What are you checking AC or DC? I assume AC? Any chance your meter is detecting millivolts? You are going to have some continuity in salt water.
I checked AC and it is volts not millivolts. But it is a very bad multimeter I am not sure if I can trust it

Checked with new voltmeter and its 0 volts. The other one still gives 100v. Just for safety for the future I added a GFCI. Something I still have not understood (everyone has a different say on this) if the gfci works without a ground probe
