I am new to the lighting aspect of reefing, but I am diving head into it to learn.

The seneye and laptop setup my friend brought over to map my tank had 2 readings...
1 was PAR, Potential Available Radiation

The 2nd was PUR. Usable radiation.

He knows more than me, but from what I gathered in his explanation you are aiming for 70% PUR. It relates in a sort of telling u how much of the lumens detected are usable in the photosynthetic spectrum... or something along those lines

Again, I'm learning still. I will know more as I skim @Dana Riddle 's articles.

Interesting! Metals are known to alter the configuration of the fluorophore (or chromophore) within the protein responsible for coloration. Perhaps it is a difference of metal content in the salts?

I actually hope that the new salt will bring back some more colour to the tank.
It is my intention to send a sample of each salt+water mix for a full ICP test in order to find some differences.
There are differences in alkalinity, but I have no idea about the metals or other major and minor elements.

The result will be interesting to see.

I just watched the video of Reef Builders with Vincent Chalias about his farm in Indonesia, comparing the ocean corals and our farmed corals.
It is interesting to see the differences.
Makes me also happy to have some brown corals

I hope one day to have thriving stony corals across the peaks and a couple acropora stretching 1 branch to the light like a finger. Your acropora are stunning and I love how they provide life to the typically empty space in the top 3rd of most tanks.

Brownies are my favorite things to ever buy! I've had some true gems come from brown blobs, some of them taking a year to start coloring up.

I recently switched back to Tropic Marin. Was using the classic before then switched to blue bucket. Now switching to Pro Reef to try something a little different

Yesterday I received back my ICP results for the tank, rodi water and a sample of freshly mixed Tropic Marine Pro Reef water.

All came back pretty good.
My Ca was a little high but that is because I was a little to excited when adding supplement last week after measuring it at only 380. It is now at 470, which is not alarming high.
Phosphorus is low, just as phosphates. Adding a little every night now.
All other are more or less good.
On the website of ATI it gives a percentage to the results and I am at 90%. The number itself is not important but it is the highest so far since all samples were sent.

I am preparing to do another water change this weekend and another next weekend.
That will replace about 50% of the water with the new salt.
I might be looking and viewing wrong and biased, but corals are looking fuller on colour already.

Good idea to also ship some rodi to make sure nothing is going on with your unit as well. I'm guessing the raise in CA may have something to do with the salt switch as well? Just did my first water change with TMPR,

My next sample will be a batch of freshly mixed Fritz salt.
Like that I can compare the 2. As soon as I have both, I'll be posting here.

2 for salt and one extra for rodi.

About 8 months ago, I got some frags from Fantasy Corals in Singapore.
Most of the frags did not make it. This due to my own fault as I did not keep up with maintenance at some point and those were the most fragile and first to suffer.
One of those frags was even lost during a change in scape.

Now, a couple of weeks ago I found that frag under one of the rocks. It has been there for maybe 4-5 months. Limited light, but with flow, stuck between the bottom and a rock. (If I had sand, it was lost)
There were no polyps and colour was grey/brownish.
So I placed that frag on the frag rack, with low light and waited.

Today, that frag was placed back and glued to a rock.
The bottom side did not survive but the top looks amazing.
