120g Standard Mixed Reef

Nice looking tank.
I love your fish and especially wrasse collection.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm down one wrasse now :/ my lineatus went missing this week and I'm pretty sure the rhomboid had something to do with it. I don't know if he somehow got chased under the screen top (which is pretty snug) or the rhomboid cleverly disposed of the body i.e. fed him to the crabs.

I'm pretty bummed, and worried about adding my new flame wrasse by himself against the now alpha-rhomboid. I might keep the flame in QT until I can find another wrasse or two to spread out the aggression.

Tank looks very well put together. I have a young 120g, yours is quite the inspiration. Your cumulative experience shows. Great work.

A little update, don't mind the mess...we've been camping a lot this summer so the tank is definitely due for a good scrub [emoji23]

I had to rescue my acans from a patch of bryopsis that got out of control. They are sitting in the sand for now until I have a chance to re-shape my garden. I have a friend who's going to lend us some fluconazole to try for the rest.

Great setup!! I used that same feeding ring for many months!!

Some new additions fresh out of QT: a powder brown tang and harlequin tusk. The tusk has been pacing since the move so it's hard to get a good picture of him.

He's fairly small yet, but I'm already seeing the need to upgrade eventually. This fish likes to swim, more than either of my tangs.

As far as introducing the powder brown to the kole... well, it wasn't terrible. I used an acclimation box for a bit, and the kole didn't seem interested at all so I let him out.

The powder brown went straight for the kole! Not aggressive, but definitely looking for trouble and trying to force him out of his cave. There's been some flaring and butt-wagging but I think they will be ok. There's a little scratch on the new guy after the first night, hopefully that's the worst of it.

And just for fun, greetings from the wrasses :)

The tusk is much more relaxed today, cruising rather than pacing the tank. I was able to get a better picture of him:

Non-related, but I haven't had much PE on this acro since I got it, right before my fallow period. I fed some cyclops this morning and noticed that it really responded. I was excited to see all those polyps! The color has been getting nicer too, developing a pretty blue sheen to the purple.

And a video I took of the fish yesterday after feeding :)

All the fish and corals looks beautiful. Can't wait to start my 40 gallon breeder.

Thank you! That's what this tank started as...a 40 breeder! But, I'm a fish person so the upgrade was imminent [emoji12]

Looking good! I love the tusk! I would love to keep one, but I like clams...and so do they.

I have a deresa, it's growing pretty fast and the tusk didn't seem interested while he was in there with it. Of course, he's back in QT now and barely had a chance to get settled in. I'm hoping keeping him well fed will discourage any mis-behavior in the future ;)

The tusk back in QT?
Something wrong?
