Just started the cycle in my new tank! Don’t plan on adding fish until after I come back from vacation in the beginning of June so I have some time to tinker with my lineup! I plan on doing a mixed reef. Here’s a list I have so far. Let me know what you guys think!

-Regal Angelfish
-Pinkface Wrasse
-Leopard Wrasse
-Longnose Hawkfish
-Orange Spotted Blenny
-Chromis (3-4 maybe)
-Zebra Moray Eel
-Whitecheek Tang
-Squaretail Bristletooth Tang
-Blue Throat Trigger

I’ve read that the regal should be introduced first and the pinkface Wrasse should be introduced last. However, I’m still debating the Pinkface Wrasse.

Grats on the new tank, I'm excited for you!!

Unfortunately I have no experience with most of these fish, hopefully someone will chime in soon with some real advice. Excellent choice on the longnose hawk though, they're great fish with tons of personality! There's not nearly enough love for them on this forum imo!

Unfortunately if that is a standard 4 foot long 120 gallon we are going to have to eliminate a few fish from that list as they get large, can be aggressive and need a MINIMUM of a 6 foot long tank:

Regal Angel
Whitecheek Tang
Blue Throat Trigger

The Pinkface should be eliminated as well as it is from the more aggressive Thalassoma Family and will almost certainly bully/harass smaller fish and is a gamble with being reef safe

Chromis often ship with disease these day and tend to pick each other off in captivity over time (especially with a group that small). I would give them a miss

The Zebra Moray I would not trust in a reef with smaller fish. They can periodically eat them. I feel that eels are best suited for predator type tanks.

Leopard Wrasse. Great fish but be aware they are delicate shippers and are picky eaters to boot (Many don't survive the first couple of weeks). For this reason I only recommend buying one that has been at your LFS for a couple of weeks and is active and eating well. Definitely avoid ordering these online as it's a huge gamble.

The rest is fine. I would look at Fairy Wrasses and Halichoeres Wrasses, possibly some Anthias, a One Spot Foxface to name a few.

Thanks for your advice!! I was iffy on the Pinkface wrasse so I’ll def eliminate that! As for the zebra eel, I’ve read that they are very docile when it comes to eating smaller fish(assuming you keep them well fed) but LiveAquaria says they are good to go with smaller fish. The only eel they can say that about. The chromis were a question mark as well. Maybe some Bangaii cardinals and/or anthias.
