So with our 120G almost ready to get wet I've been thinking about what additional fish we should get. Currently, in two separate small tanks, we have:

1 pair Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish
1 pair True Percula Clownfish
1 x Pygmy Yellowtail Angelfish
1 x Yellow Angelfish (Centropyge heraldi)
2 x Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (both with their own shrimp buddy)

These will all transfer over and then I can use the smaller tanks to QT the new additions. I have the following in mind (in total) and would welcome feedback. Also, I'd love it if I could get them all at once but might need to pace myself with the cost. Which ones would be most important to introduce at the same time?

1 x Sailfin Tang, Desjardini (Maldives/Sri Lanka) - Small Juvenile
1 x Kole Yellow Eye Tang - Medium
1 x Singapore Angelfish (Indonesia) - Medium (if not shy)
1 x Schooling Bannerfish (H. diphreutes)
5 x Green Chromes

Oh, and this will be a reef tank, not FOWLR, so I'm trying to keep reasonably reef safe.

I have a 125 and have had a 180. Might want to reconsider two tangs and a angelfish that's allot of bio load. And if you decide to anyway. I wouldn't add chromies unless you really want them. You may have issues with your clownfish fighting. If you are not dead set on the fish you don't have but want. Maybe replace some with some wrasses. Lot of fun to watch and get big but not so big

Thanks! Yeah I'm hoping the clowns can be kept far enough apart. One pair has an RBT they sort of host, the other pair sticks to a huge frogspawn. If I had to take away one tang I guess it would be the Kole Yellow Eye, but man they're cool! I really wanted 3 Anthias but decided they were too much trouble, and the chromies are cheap. Will certainly leave them for last and maybe not bother.

A friend bought 3 chromies because he wanted more movement. And just spent a week catching them because other fish had trouble getting food with those things and found other fish he liked more. To me they have always been fancy freshwater fish. A lfs has a huge sailfin tang pulled it from a 360 gallon tank. It loves being in his shallow sps frag tank. I loves the attention it gets. Will even let you touch it. Craziest tang I have ever seen most of the time his fin comes out of water. My advice for you assuming you will get the fish you want anyway. Large sump !! I use a 40 breeder then I have a 10 gal fug I have a about 150 gallons of water in a 125 my stand is maxed out under neithe.

40B sump in progress:

Will have a Vertex Alpha 150 skimmer and an 8 x 8 x 4 MarinePure block, plus carbon/GFO canisters.

Your list seems good. Except I wouldn't add a Singapore angel to a tank with other established angels, they are too passive. Though all angels, except the genus Genicanthus are a risk to nip corals.

If possible add the tangs last and simultaneously. They will be the most dominant fish in the tank.

In most instancestwo prs of the ocellaris complex should be fine in a 120.

Each tank is different as far as bioload, but your list should be fine for an average 120g

Thanks for the insight with the Singapore Angel, you think even the pygmy and dwarf would dominate the larger Singapore? Wouldn't surprise me. I'll look into Genicanthus.
Tang(s) last, got it!

Yes, pygmy angels don't realize how small they are and can be quite bossy towards similarly shaped tankmates.

Also, every Singapore angel I have seen in a reef has picked at coral.

The female Spotbreast Angelfish (Genicanthus melanospilos) is quite attractive as well, not terrible on the cost front. Most other Genicanthus I've seen so far are either crazy expensive or not so compelling to look at.

Then again, I could skip the large angel completely and go with 2 x Schooling Bannerfish instead. They always look better in multiples. And yeah, skip the chromies.
