120g tank/stand/bar build

Looking great. I remember when my 120 was clean and sterile.....would like to see pics of the overflows in a year.

Same here lol I'm sure it's hard to keep the plastic clean so I won't really stress on it I'll prob just let the coralline take it over

Day 7
ph 8.1
ammonia 4
nitrite .50
nitrate 5
Kinda odd my sg went down to 1.022 from 1.024 i read something about sg dropping when you don't have enough fresh air around the water. Will have to figure out what's going on with that. Could be that I have the glass top closed with a little gap on the end open, and the cabinet closed with no fresh air. Simple fix would prob be as easy as putting an air vent in the doors with a fan inside if that's even the issue. On another note seems I have a bacteria bloom or atleast I hope so means it should eventually clear itself up.

Well went almost a week without doseing ammonia cus my cycle seemed to stall and it didn't move so a couple days ago I added a raw shrimp and bam ammonia starts to go down now at .50 progress [emoji3]. And water is starting to clear up now which is nice I've also been doseing stablity on day 5 of that.

Well got my new filters in from brs my tds went from an 8 to 5 ppm but I think I found my problem my waste water flow restrictor is a 300 I need a 550 for 75gpd so I ordered that. Anyway tank is looking much clearer now I'd say about 80%. Ammonia is almost gone waiting to see when the nitrite will fall off the cliff. My nitrates are insane right now around 160.

Pic update

Ammonia is gone nitrite is a 2-5 hard to tell with these api test kits and nitrate is 160.

Added some drawer sliders to the bar that's holding the lights. Now they move completely out of the way for access to the tank.

Yeah even though it's empty we still sit there staring at it. Lol

It's still cycling and not sure if I should or not. Been reading mixed reviews about water changes during a cycle. I'm on day 23 of the cycle

Looking good!

Well things are moving along smoothly cycle seems to be on schedule. It's day 37 and I have O ammonia .25 nitrite and 5 nitrate. Wasn't expecting the nitrate to go down with the nitrite, but I'm happy it is. Means less water changes . Redid my return lines the seemed to be in the way, now I have more room. Need to invest in the carbon/gfo reactors and a Kalk stirrer soon. Qt still isn't ready I may go purchase some mature live rock to stick in there to help it out. Also anyone else having trouble with the r2r app?

Tests came out all 0s so dt must be fully cycled haven't had a chance to go to the lfs to get me a chunk of live rock yet, so tests are the same for qt. Also have some brown patches on the sand.

First sign of life in the tank diatoms. I must be doing something right.

Looking good. Def should of went with the brs Rodi unit from the getgo. I've had one 2 years now and never once had an issue. Also there dual gfo/carbon reactor is hands down best reactor on the market in my opinion. The brs website is where I get 80% of my dry stuff.
