This has been a plan in the making for about 4 years now. My dad gave us a 90 gallon tank after his house fire.
Current status!
Current hardware -
Custom home-built stand
120 Gallon aqueon glass reef ready display tank
- Used the 2 builtin overflow boxes for two herbie drains, added a seperate return line up the wall and into the tank
55 Gallon glass sump
- designed and built the baffles myself using 1/4" acrylic. Raised refugium section to maximize space
48" LedZeal Malibu S300 programmable LED display light

roughly 150 lbs of rock
As I said earlier, I started collecting equipment about 4 years ago. I finally got around to building the stand about a month ago, and we've had a few pitfalls already!
about 2 weeks ago, we had all the rock and the water cycling through the sump, and two days into the cycle, the 90 gallon display tank broke on the back glass. We transferred the rock into rubbermaid tubs to hopefully continue cycling until the new tank got here.
I found a spreadsheet online that I modified a bit so we can watch our levels during the cycle. About 3 days ago we started growing diatoms, so I think we're well on our way!
