So im starting a new 120 gal build. In the past I have always stuck with the 1lb per gallon. However. This time im looking to do less rock and more negative space. I'm just afraid of going too far the other way. I am wondering if 60lbs would be enough? Im looking to do a double arch with some branches off it. I am going to supplement Biobick in the sump.

Heres my 120 BB with around 75lbs max.
21 months old.

suggest using seachem matrix instead of the bioblock. they leach aluminum.
Funny you say that. I have actually always used matrix, but was thinking about switching it up. Maybe I will just stay with what I have done. How do you recommend using it, a bag of it in the sump or something else?

mine are in tupperware containers I drilled multiple holes in because that's what I had available. no lids.
mesh baskets from the dollar store would work.
I used 3 of the 4L buckets for my 150. (140g total DT and sump.)
