Hey, looking for some ideas on what to put in a 125. As of now, I plan on a desjardini tang, magnificent fox face, dusky wrasse and a couple clowns. I am leaning towards at least one more tang, but possibly two (let me know what you think would fit). Will list some additional ideas below but after that, I am not sure and open to suggestions. Let me know what y'all think. Also, how many fish would you say is a light vs heavy load for a 125? I know it varies greatly between the type of fish and how big they are but kind of just looking for a ballpark answer.

Copperband Butterfly
Pyramid Butterfly
Regal Angel / Flame Angel / any angels that are reefish safe
Anthias (not sure what kind)
Few Wrasse
Marine Betta (Are they generally reef safe?)

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Looks like a nice list but you may want to specify which wrasses because aggression is possible

What wrasses would have an issue with a dusky wrasse? Are any of the coris wrasses reef safe? I would love a banana wrasse but I don’t think they are reef safe.

These wrasses reef safe but dusky a digger and red coris will turn your rocks and frags upside in search of food.
Few large angels are reef safe and are hit and miss. I had a majestic that was great and a passer that was a nightmare. Emperor, blueface, queen etc will take down coral

Im hoping to upgrade from a 75 to a 125 myself largely so i can add more wrasses and a convict tang.
my all time favorite wrasse is a dusky wrasse, and it is perfectly peaceful. That being said it is no pushover. The dusky(4”) is perfectly capable of standing its ground to my H garnoti(yellowhead wrasse 6”). I would just avoid something that looks too much like it. As for angels id be careful, especially with the larger angels. So far my coral beauty ive had for a month has been fine however i feed up fo 4 times a day, so it never seems to get too hungry.
if i do upgrade id like to get an anampses, Macropharyngodon, and if i am so lucky id love to get another bluehead wrasse that isnt a complete terror.

I used to have a desjardini in my 125 but had to remove it due to it being very aggressive. As it matured it just got more and more territorial and nearly killed my fox face, which still has markings from the barb. So based off my research the desjardini just grows a bit big for a 125 and if you do plan on keeping it make sure it’s the last fish you add to combat that aggression and territorial behavior.
