Hello R2R! I seem to have a problem. I've read around and it seems the trim or molding supports the integrity of the tank so it doesn't bow. So one of the front sides of the tank wood moldings has come of how do I go about applying silicone this. Do I just put that one piece back on or just take all the sides off and reseal everything. I have no clue how old this tank is.

This tank was given to me. I I haven't done anything to it yet please excuse the mess

I cannot tell anything from the picture. But I do know from my experiences, dealing with old tanks can be a nightmare. I had one 30 Gallon start leaking from the bottom two months after I started using it, what a mess! I digress, I wonder if you could convert the top bracing to a euro-brace. You could get glass cut to the exact size at a local glass/mirror shop (or do it yourself), if you do this, just make sure they do not 'polish' the glass. But be careful, it is super sharp!

Otherwise, you can buy new plastic bracing online. Either way, I would replace the whole bracing to ensure the integrity of the tank.

Is it possible then to remove the top trim and jut replace it with a euro brace and just buy a new bottom trim?

Absolutely, it is easiest (and faster) if you can break the trim as you go. If you are dealing with a wooden trim, it may be easier to notch it with a dremel. There are a few videos on youtube which may be useful to you.
