I'm getting a 125g tank for my 45th birthday. What size sump should i get or build? I was thinking 40 gallon sump but not sure. If i build one, I would like to make an area for a fuge with some live sand and chaeto. But not sure. Any advice would be appreciated. I have a thriving reef right now but I'm afraid that my livestock will outgrow my current 75g. I have 2 extreme misbar clowns, flame angel, starry blenny, magnificent fox face, and powder brown tang. They're are relatively small (smaller than 5 inches). But I'm ready to upgrade. Got a host of corals that are also growing quickly. My Duncan frag of 3 heads, now 17. My candy are splitting quickly and i don't want to frag out anything

I have a 6', 125 RR and its size is very good. As far as a sump and it's size, I'm not sure, as I went with a basement sump.

My advice would be as large as you can easily fit into its stand and still have room to work.

My 125 has a 55-gallon sump with an area for fuge but not much else if you plan on keeping everything inside the stand... but like stated before it depends on the space in the stand.
