This is the best picture I could find. I bumped both the inlets & outlets from 1" to 1-1/2". Not sure if it helped, but it looks nice.

Personally mines set to the side with extra room on return pump side so when it gets changed have little easier time.

I got the eshopps r-200 refugium/sump and the return pump is in the back. Im not a fan of that. The skimmer area is to the right.

My stand is very very tight.

He's saying to rip out the in-tank overflows, plug up the holes in the corners, then drill holes on the back wall towards the top. It's basically a long surface skimmer that takes up much less room in the tank.

Personally, I like the corner overflows because it sucks up debris from lower in the tank through those vents. Works well when you have water move past it perfectly so fish poop and food particles don't just land on the floor.

I wish they could come up with lower tank filtration that was actually more effective.
