125 reef tank with added refugium. Opinions for path forward

So I have added an above tank refugium. I am looking to see what I can do with the refugium now. I have chaeto algae and some live rock with long hair algae on it in the refugium along with pods and phytoplankton. Would clams be ok and what would kick the chaeto in gear. Also. Can frags be grown out in it?
