125 - Took Forever But Here It is!

Except the polyp was disintegrating - acted similar to BJD without any brown jelly.
I had 2 torches do that in the past 9 months and a frogspawn. I dosed Cipro anyways, whatever caused it I'm hope it's over. All my other corals are doing great, and so we're they until they just withered away.

Added some PuriResin to the sump. This picture looks like it might be time to change the Polyfil. I got me some of that IOAOI filter floss sponge material too so I'ma cut me off a piece of that!

How did that work for you?

The sponge plugs up fast. I'm having to change it almost weekly. The resin hasn't dropped the nitrates but they were pretty high to begin with. Overall I'm satisfied.

I'll take some of yours.

One would think with high nitrates the resin would work better.

Did you try anything else like vodka dosing or sulfur reactor to control nitrates?
I'm not trying to necessarily control nitrates, just bring them down to measurable levels. Currently they're flashing 75.

I am also dosing vinegar but only 20 ml daily.

cant you just use your fancy doser for that.
lol. Yes, but I have to make sure I'm not dealing with anything bound before I start again. Need an accurate reading. They are slowly rising. Last reading was 5.4.

I have this super precise technique of tossing a raw shrimp in the sump, crossing my fingers, and then don't check it again until I feel like it.This method was calibrated top members of the state and federal Departments of Weights and Measures, to be dead-on balls accurate.
