Tank is 125 gallon with 39gallon sump.

Reef octopus 200-int, 2 x mp40s, 2 x Vectra s1 returns. 120lbs live rock, 40lbs sand. Chaeto in refugium.

Tank is 4 months old.

Been stocked with fish and CUC and mixed SPS / LPS / softies for months now.

All fish and corals are happy and I am seeing growth with frags.

My problem is cyano. Its not at the point of being VERY bad but its not clearing up. I have in my arsenal NOPOX and redslime remover and chemipure elit. Since I have undetectable phos and nitrate I am hesitate of using the NOPOX.

Salinity - 1.025
calcium - 500
alk - 9.0
magnesium - 1500
nitrate - o
phosphate - o

I am debating waiting it out even longer or if I should use red slime remover or nopox or chemipure elite.

Wait it out. If not I’d use chem clean. I’ve been batttling for a while in my 180. I just decreased lighting schedule a few hours and am jammin out 2 mp40’s and M1 Pump full tilt. 2 days later lot less cyano. I had used red slime remover a couple months ago and didn’t cut it. I was very surprised for have had great results in past.

I Have used chemiclean 3 times so far in my tank it seems cyano always returns by the end of the summer idk if it’s me slacking on maintenance during these months but chemiclean works like a charm, I under dose to be on the safe side since I have a Maxima clam sps lps zoas leathers dusters bunch of inverts etc. I do see it takes longer to kill everything tho not no next day gone like many forums takes 3-4 days then I do a 20% water change. I have a 75g-30g sump and j dose for 70g
