125g limited space skimmer suggestion

I have just upgraded to a 125g tank, 30g sump, 10g refug. Available sump space is only 11.75" x 10.5" and no external space in the cabinet.

I thought I had the ultimate solution with the Bubble Magus BM180EX for $260 on ebay but it turns out that it sounds like a large leaf blower. I can't even run it for 5 mins without wanting to put my head through a wall and quit the hobby completely. :cry: I know that noise levels are subjective, but as a reference point, I have 3 tanks in my living room with various HOB, canister filters and air pumps and I think my Mag9.5 return is almost silent.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a quiet, inexpensive skimmer that will fit? Priced under $500. :bigsmile:

A used BK mini 180 would do nicley and what I would use on a 125.

One of the "Super Sump Saver" SRO models (pump is built into the bottom of the skimmer) could be an option. We run a SRO 6000sss and have been very pleased with it's performance.

Reef Octopus is the brand I was using on my previous tank and so is where I looked first. The largest model I can fit would be the SRO XP2000SSS which is only rated at 180gal. I felt that after real world adjustment it would be cutting a bit close and probably didn't warrant the $500 pricetag.

I use a bm nac7on my 125 gallon, about 150 galloms total in the smae footprint, and it is silent. I think that there is an nac8,but Iam unsure

SRO SSS would fit. Also, I think the smallest SRO Diabolo will fit.

I think the XP2000SS would suit you well. I have the XP2000 on a 90, 70 and 40 all plumbed together. My bioload is moderate and I think this skimmer is well suited.
