Ok, do you guys know the little black surface skimmer that attaches to the back and stays there due to suction of water?

The problem I have is when the power goes out this thing falls and then the water level drops etc etc. The power goes out here a lot (Florida thunder storms) and I don't want to adjust this everytime it happens. What do you guys suggest for keeping this thing somewhat stuck?

bah...can't find it...couldn't find it on that site either.

I too glued mine. However every now and then I had to pull it off because I would get algae in it. I picked up a nylon screw, washer & nut. Drilled thru the surface skimmer(front part against a piece of wood). Put it back in and marked where the hole would be on the first compartment, Drilled that, then reattached the surface skimmer.
Now if I have ti clean it,I just have to undo it,clean it and put it back in,

hmm..I'm not worried about algae inside because my stomatella snails go in there all the time... I would be worried about the weird buildup that seems to occur along the inside edges of it...maybe I'll just glue it...I do like being able to adjust it up and down though.

There really is no need to adjust it. Keep your water level constant by topping off or getting an ATO. If the teeth bulid up with coralline or other just use a pipe cleaner or similar to clean
