Would it skim out my fish?
I put a net over intake. Id be lieing if I said my puffer hasn't been stuck to it at least once. But then again I've found him puffed up stuck to pretty much everything at this point haha

That ro unit is insane, 5 stage! Do you know how long it runs for?

You think that’s crazy? Mines a 7 stage

Is it possible to use a skimmer as a pump?

not that I’m aware of. But a skimmer is a heck of a way to keep a tank oxygenated

Edit: don’t worry about a sump right now. Setting up an AIO to be plumbed with a sump is it’s own crazy can of worms. And would easily put you beyond your budget.

Idk but it might be possible to make a really scary looking rig on my tank to hold the skimmer inside

What’s the media basket do that’s important?
The stock filter is just a sponge. Good for bacteria, but eventually produces more ammonia and waste than it helps to remove.

Fluval makes a skimmer for the tank, but it seems like overkill on a small tank where water changes can make up for it.
Chamber 3 is where my heater goes, it’s a squeeze but it fits.
You are going to want to plug the hole in the wall by chamber 2. It winds up reducing the filter effectiveness and I’ve had a fish get trapped in chamber 3 because of it.

There are millions of threads regarding stocking, so finding info there shouldn’t be a problem. Just google: fluval 13.5 stocking. People will always argue about the number of fish that can go in. I run 30% water changes a week, so that is probably why I see 4 fish as a possibility, so long as you are dealing with mostly low waste fish (ex: 2 gobies and a clown pair).

No not unless you pull pump out and use that way.
They do make skimmers that recirculate water through drain pipe while skimmer is functioning as skimmer though thats only to move water around in sump. Not much more

Will I even need water changes with this thing? I’m gonna have to like target dose my corals

Ok. I think this is getting a little outta hand. Anyone else have experience with the evo long term?
Mines been up and running since Sept 2020.

I think someone should make a gyroscopic flow randomizer. Idk how to autocad but I could sketch it
Check out SpinStream. They are a little noisy for the first couple of days (Makes a faint ticking sound) but it goes away as soon as the plastic gears mesh. Mine took three days and it’s dead silent.

I could probably trade the frame for a kessil, kessil is like 100$ value the frame is like 120 right?
