Sometimes you gotta dump money on equipment, it is nice for someone to send a skimmer if they’d like but a wishlist is a bit excessive :/
Agreed. I think an actual list of build gear posted in his build thread like everyone pretty much does is perfectly fine.

Ok. I’m gonna post the list soon, I’m gonna either do the Fiji or the nuvo. I think honestly the 12g fluval is kinda redundant because it is just going to be a glass box and aio which I could get for 150$ if I did Fiji cube 250 if I did nuvo
So....the fluval 13.5 thread is now not a fluval 13.5 thread?

As @FishyFishFish said, the 13.5 is an excellent first tank that has just about everything you need. You don't even need upgrades, if you have financial limits. I think you need to make up your mind on one tank and stick with it, despite what other people may tell you. The tank is 100% your decision.

What are you trying to keep?
I wouldn’t recommend the tank for most sps or even a lot of nps, but most else is pretty good in there.
Its not the type of corals really am just saying i hated it was to small a daft shape and imo chambers just look better on the back out the way plus was always overflowing on the ato cos flow was rubbish through chambers

True, but as a beginner tank, I really think the Fluval Evo is a good choice. It gets the job done, and does what it has to do for a basic reef tank. It's not perfect, but it's good. Probably the best choice for a cheap first tank IMO.

Ya but the evo all ya end up with is a draw full of stuff thats no good and spending the money anyways id rather get a wb cube 20 cos ya going to have to ipgrade all the crap in an evo

The only stuff I have in my drawer from the Evo is the sponge and the bio balls. I'm using everything else. Even with the upgraded return pump I am using the original one on my salt mixing station and it is available in an emergency if my Sicce fails.

Just because you don't like the look of it doesn't make it a bad tank, I love the look of mine.

Am just saying it was more or a headache than a pleasure i have a wb 35.2 now and wish id just got that first instead of the evo its abit more pricey but from what ive seen since a got a tank 6 months ago ya buy cheap ya buy twice

I might get like some shells from the beach in Florida but I’m not even dive trained
If you’re ever interested in collecting I’ll send rules and regulations and such. I’m going in a couple weeks.

If you give a mouse a cookie...
I think you need to show people you are willing to buy things before anyone is gonna donate to you

Speaking of buying stuff anyone wanna buy me a holy grail torch? I'll cover shipping :p
I will take a 500 gallon reef savvy tank, I will cover shipping
oh wait I can't afford shipping nvm :D

Here's the deal, it's your tank and you need to buy what you need yourself. Like I said donated items are one thing, but asking for people to buy you stuff is wrong... Even if it is only $20.
Agreed.
So there's no confusion here.
I through out idea of starting build thread. And posting list of gear. You never know someone else may be have extra gear laying around and be willing to help youngsters cause.
That being said at end of day its youngsters responsibility to pay for and get what he needs.
And agree thoroughly that he needs to realize there will also be monthly maintenance fees for salt, etc.
I would need to know mom is 100% in support of this endeavor as well.

Noah you would probably be fine with API saltwater test kit for what you are doing.
My wife is able to use the kit and pretty much match my red sea kit and salifert kits somehow. Just have to follow directions to the T and replace glass tubes when dirty or caps start leaking.

How’s it rude??? I’m not making them buy it, It’s like, If you want to donate to my reef project and you don’t have spare stuff, you can always check out the Amazon wishlist we have
But....it's not like you need this reef. If you really want it, you'll have to be patient and rack up the money yourself or go searching for affordable means to do this. You won't get handouts, though, if that's what you're implying.

Ok, I won’t post the donation link. I will pm it to lrt though to donate the rodi. Is that OK?
