The slw is midway down the back. I epoxied the magnet meant to on the outside of the tank, so it could be submerged with no issues.

I’ll say it once again - you don’t need a wavemaker to begin with on the Evo. I bought an Aqamai KPS but sent it back (unused) as it wasn’t necessary for my needs.

Sure, if you want to add one later then that’s cool, but if you just want to get the tank running you don’t need it at the beginning.

I just had a fox face and five tangs trying to chew through the glass to get at that!

This is true, but if it seems he is looking to one and done the tank. If that is the case, and he can get now, may as well.

Also I think this is a very similar power head but slightly cheaper($10). It would be another great choice.

I have that it’s great but it’s stopped working and I’m not sure why. I’ve scrubbed it and nothing changed. I’m gonna try soaking in vinegar maybe corraline stopped it or something. But if that doesn’t work I’ll probably call them. Just wanted Noah to know before/if he is buying it

Pretty hardy, they just need water so put them in a bag and in a styrofoam container. You could take a few home for your tank they’d help clean the water column. Sometimes people have good experiences with bivalves sometimes they don’t. If you’re running a more dirty water system which would fit the macro and Caribbean theme than you’d have a better chance of them living

Yes they do as do barnacles

Do the oysters need flow? I’m probably gonna fill a water bottle or tupperware with them then some muddy ocean water for them to eat. I’m gonna then put this in a checked suitcase

Where are you going in Florida? Some counties are restricted from harvesting oysters. You also have to have a standard fishing license to collect them and only so many are allowed. Trust me on this. I commercially collect in Florida and FWC does not play when it comes to harvesting rules.

You will not, but a parent may need one. This is a grey area and basically up to the officer if stopped. Basically, you are putting harvested items in someone else’s vehicle. By law this can be looked at as them having “possession”.

pls do not soak it in vinegar it will ruin the pump use citric acid!

Agree - I've had the KPS and returned it, have also had the SLW and OW10. Have a Hygger and had to turn it all the way down. Removed it for future use. Still too much on the far wall of the tank. Now I'm running a Sicce .5 with two RFG for the return and the Sicce Nano(270GPH) for a wavemaker.
