try this light for more corals it can grow softies to sps

Thanks, but i don't need more corals.) When i was starting i wanted more of macroalgae tank, but they didn't grow well. Now like 80% of biomass in the tank are corals) Waiting for somebody to send me a link to lamp that grows macroalgae like weeds...
+ This lamp is way less bright then the one i have, and its is blue, while i like white light. Even if i will keep SPS someday, which i doubt, they will be under white lights. Because i like to create an illusion of the real ocean. But maybe in the future it would be nice to have a lamp that will be blue for an hour or so in the evening to see zoas and briareum fluoress.

why does that scarily look like a brissle worm

It was in fact a brittle star(it's leg). They have very distinct coloration, that i call "winter sock". But i have a lot of bristle worms, some of which i might start calling bristle serpents, because these anacondas look too big in 14 gallon tank... Still love them as a free cleanup crew

it actual comes in 3 colours white blue and full spectrum and also has timing setting and i have hade some succese with the only macroalgae i tried. some sea grapes i got from beach

I think my 50 w spotlight is pretty good and the same model grew red, green and even some brown macroalgae like weeds. Except browns died after a few weeks, but they were cold water algae that lives in turbulent waters, and i had quite a warm tank with minimum flow or dosing, so I'm not surprised . I just think the problem i had with algae in this tank was lack of microelements. Because after i swapped salts corals and algae are always opened, but i also have a lot od cyano and dinos(i had a lot of nitrate because i thought lack of it was the culprit). I'm not really worried, i just need for the system to stabilise.

PS: i have my tank near window so if i will want to increase light intensity i will just open curtains and let the tank bask in the sun.

great i remember back in the day when i was only 8-10 yrs old and used sunlight to grow macroalgae as we could,nt afford a reef light. if we did we would be eating bread for the rest of the month( just kidding but u get the idea)

Unfortunately, i do not know why, but my red macroalgae seems to die off if exposed to sunlight. At first it hits like a growth spurt, and then dies, even with dosing... Maybe it overheats, because the tank gets direct sunlight for a few hours if not shielded from it with something, maybe it overphotosynthesises and can't keep up it's nutrient demand with the amount of light it's getting, but either way, reds go first and then go the greens. That is a shame, because i liked when i was getting sunlight in the tank at the evening, it looked like wild black sea. Especially when fishies were sitting on algae and basking under the sun rays.

At least my goby now has a lot of things to sit/sleep on. When sitting on a pillow of algae he reminds me of his drabber but bigger and very belligerent cousins back at black sea.
