I just got in 2 14.5 K giesemann megachrome 250w MH to replace my old lights. I fired one of them up and it appears white with almost no blue. Does it take a while for the bulb to completely burn or did I get mislabeled bulbs (10 K possibly)?

Note: They've been on for about 4 hour now

could be just the way those bulbs look, or you could've gotten a bad bulb. do both of the new bulbs look the same? what ballast are you running them on?

I have 2 radiums with somewhat the same problem. running 2x250w radiums off galaxy ballast and the 1 bulb for first hour runs purple instead of the blueish/white but I dont have complains I havn't noticed it effecting my corals

Giesemann Bulbs seem to burn whiter than most, from my experience. 14K seems to be more like a 12K or less. The 20K seems to burn the color of most 14K
