Hey yall, I've been here awhile so I feel silly for asking this.
I recently bought an ai hydra HD.
Bought the gooseneck. Light sits at just over a foot and a half from the tank (again silly) but I got tired of kessil.
So from the light to the sand bed there is about 2 1/2 feet.
Trying to find out a good wattage to run the light at. The tank is soft corals, so nothing crazy. But I just want to know a good setting is anyone is familiar with these lights.....which I'm sure most of yall are. Thank you!
#reefsquad, I'm on yalls team but I don't have an answer lol.

I always started roughly with white/green/red at about half of the blues/violet/uv and then tweaked from there. You could start at 40% on the blues/purples and 20% on the others and see how you like it (considering you won't need a ton of output for softies in a biocube).

Wow, great tank! I have a 29 bio cube and here’s my light setting for an ai prime hd if it helps:

I agree with the stronger blue levels, medium whites, nobody cares about the reds and greens. Run the peak setting for midday for at least 6 hours, even better for 8 hours. That's roughly how long the zooxanthellae will do photosynthesis before they shut down.
