My start in the SW consisted of a trade. My firewood for a friends 14g BioCube. That was Feb '14. It's now mid Nov and I'm a total addict. I've learned a lot in the past months and am ready to go bigger. I have space and funds to only go up to the spare 40b.
So here is the current plan.
40b (free, helped do a dump run)
Amiracle hob wet/dry filter (free, right place and time)
2x Marineland 400 to be used with above (purchased)
CPR hob skimmer (free as above)
1 Rio 600 to be used with above (free with wet/dry filter)
Will be purchasing new rock and sand as my learning curve was tap (lots of GHA) and not RO/DI, and I understand that I shouldn't transfer the sand for various reasons.
Lighting is this: Current USA Orbit Marine LED Saltwater Reef Lighting System: Aquarium LED Light Fixtures
And I understand it's probably most suitable for LPS and softies. I'm fine with that. (I think, lol. Also a purchase)
Existing tank stock being moved will include:
Tiger Pistol Shrimp/Blue Spot Goby
1- 1" dia trunk, 6-7" (widest area) Kenya tree
1- 2 to 2-1/2" frogspawn
1 small, and very reclusive (since ppmnt shrimp touched it) frogspawn
Peppermint was last of three that was gifted back to LFS after the frogspawn issue. I think the other two succumbed to the pistol.
Waiting on shippers to deliver:
Refractometer
Heater
What am I missing ?
I would like to add to the stock over the next 6-8 months, an Ocellaris pair, a Longnose Hawkfish, and Six Line Wrasse. My research says the tank would be safe with this bioload and would like to know opinions on adding 2 Firefish to this list as I think it may be too much.
Thank you all for looking and feedback. It's very much appreciated.
