Amazing build! Awesome how you show off the equipment.

I’ve been running the DOS for auto water changes for 4 years. One thing you need to do is run vinegar through the lines to dissolve calcium/sludge once or twice a year.

I learned this the hard way when I noticed my salinity dropping after a couple years of AWC.

The new water line was so caked that nothing would pump through it. I had to attach a bicycle pump to one of the ends and blast the gunk out, then ran vinegar to dissolve the rest!

I recommend running vinegar BEFORE that happens!

So...I received my Xr30 pros yesterday and figured it would be fun to install them today. I seemed to have forgotten how well I ran my wires and how many wires actually go up the light rack.

I removed the AP700 and 360s. Installed all three Radions and programmed them to their AB+ LPS setting at 15% for now. I do miss the shimmer the Kessils provided.

Tomorrow I get to remove all the old bricks and wires. Then run new ones. Ugh!

been following along for quite some time now! Love the build and your ideas are awesome! I remember reading along that you built your light rack thru 8020.net could you explain a little as to what you used and how you retro fitted the T5s? Thank man!

wasn’t hard and I got lucky how the retrofit lights are set up. I just used small bolts, washers and nuts that would fit into the 8020 channels. It was kind of a pain tightening them up but not too bad. The front bar is fixed but the back bars for the T5s slides so I could get the correct lengths or add longer/shorter ones later. Wire management is awesome with the 8020. Just push the wires in the channels and not much is visible.

Man this build is impressive! Love the look, its clean, organized! That 8020 light mount design is nice been thinking about doing that on one of my systems. Keep it up HAppy reefing!

That looks awesome. I need to now use this as inspiration to build light holder for my lights.
How are these attached to the stands. Are these clamped or drilled to stand. My stand is steel so I could go either way.

I used L brackets off the 8020 to connect them to the stands. The first two were screwed into wood and the last is into metal. I usually take the main bar to the floor and use 4 L brackets to secure. Never had a issue.

I was wondering how you connected the UV sterilizer brackets to the 80/20 aluminum. I would like to do something like that on my tank.

I just found a bolt and nut that fit the 80/20 and used a washer the fit the rails also. Used a screw driver at a angle to hold the nut while I tightened the bolt. Kinda rigged up but that’s how I connected my T5 brackets also. Seems to be holding still lol

Here are picture of my light rack. There are before and after pictures. Excuse the wires as I have not had time to clean them up. I originally tried the Kessil arms as I had them. But discovered the weight of my Aquatic Life Hybrid Fixture caused the Kessil arms to deflect. So now I have the 80/20 light rack. Definitely should have done this sooner. Have the Kessil arms available if anyone is interested.
