very nice! I am really thinking about adding an apex closet to the side of my tank. been thinking about it a while now but after seeing yours..i just might.

the only problem in it would stick out past the tank...unless I went with a small sump.

who big( wide )would you say one would need?

It only needs to be wide enough to hold all your equipment but if your asking depth I would leave as much as possible for wires and power bricks. I have this on a wall and it hinges down for access. We set the equipment back too far should have moved it forward 2” but I was able to get all my wire back ther but it was TIGHT! Maybe has 2/3” on the back side.

My friend @ Elvis Aquatics 3D printed some brackets. Same guy built the boxes and all the wood work on this tank.

Ok I contacted Tuan about making me some
Acrylic labels for the buttons he liked the idea of ingraving them on the Acrylic better. He cut me a new sheet with labels on it. I Just got done painting it tonight.

Decided I am going to sell my 9 gallln drop off. That way I’m down to one tank to make my life easier. The clown and Sexy shrimp we’re sold today. My son didn’t want to give up his crabs and other inverts. I decided to add some sand and rock to my refugium and will transfer them over later this week so he can keep his pets.

I ordered my DOS and new 22.3g “ATO” and will be setting up a auto water change on this system when I get everything. Nothing else to report...

Ok, buttons delivered today and installed. I’m using the one link off the EB832 to power the 12v leds. Using a 24-12v converter. All buttons wired up and workings just need to add some programming.

I mounted the DOS and will set it up for auto water changes this weekend.

Just saw this and read through all 7 pages. Great build and nice seeing another Texas reefer in here. My work buys most of our fleet trucks from San Antonio and I volunteer to go pick them up every time. Good chance to get to visit some decent LFS. The electronics part of this build is very impressive, I tried to make my nice and it didn't turn out like I had envisioned but your build and others have given me some ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Nothing to report, been “chasing” numbers...kinda. Low PH and high Phos. Working on those issues.

I added a float switch to my Skimmer collection cup and wired it up with a water proof connector.

My Kalk Stirrer came in today and I got it built. It’s not going to work where I was going to add it so for now it is sitting next to the tank until I come up with something I like. Guess I’ll get it running tomorrow.

I actually drilled through it twice (kept using larger bits) before it came off. I left it off and seems like the skimmer is still working well. If need be I can drill it out more and reattach it.

I always found it too difficult to fully clean that cup.

I ended up putting the “dome” back on the lid. I used my Dremel to make the hole big enough for the float. Skimmate foam was coming out of the lid holes before the float would trip. I may end up lowering the float some but think the foam would still come out the holes of the lid.

Thought it was hard to clean before, try it with a float sensor added. Lol actually it’s not that bad I used different size brushes I got off Amazon.

Yeah, the shape of that cup, along with that internal dome, doesn't lend itself well to adding float switches. I was going to do something similar to what you have to my Nyos skimmer, but I believe I will just use the Avast Marine skimmate collector. It has a pressure switch inside of it that can shut down the skimmer when it gets full. Mine will just have to overflow a little longer to fill up the skimmate collector.

Really love all the planning and care taken into build. I'm currently working on a build as well (not where you are yet) and am looking at some very similar type ideas. Definitely following along.
