Hello everyone.
Been in the reef game for about 3 years now and about to do a tank upgrade and figured I would do a build.

I've followed many builds the past few years and learned a lot, but could always use a few tips.

Thanks for looking.

The tank: 140 gallon eurobraced peninsula style tank 48x26x26. I really like the dimensions of the tank and the extra 2 inches. (Get your heads out of the gutter)

Flow: 2 VorTech MP40's
Waveline DC 6000 return pump.

Lighting: 2 kessil 360we's
I plan on adding some t5 lights in the future

Filtration: BRS dual media reactor running gfo and carbon. Rlss 6i for all those slimming needs.

I will be building my own stand for this tank and I found so much helpful information on these forums. This is my first really big wood working project and I hoped it turns out well.

Some pictures from this past weekend

Stand is coming along.

Got the skin and molding done. Now just a few coats of stain and we can move this inside

Going to also add this tile trim around the top of the stand. I made the mistake of showing my wife someone who did something similar on their build. She thought it was awesome so naturally I had to do it also.

Don't know if it was my tile job you saw, but yeah, I like the tile :)

I'm looking at a similar upgrade, eventually... 60"x30"x18" peninsula. Might be a year or so, I'm still getting everything planned. Stand is looking good!

Well since I was pretty much on the road for the entire month of march for work obligations I haven't had much progress on the build. However it is nice to come home and find a box of new toys to open up.

Made some progress. Stain is done and stand is sitting in its final location. Also started to mount up the equipment cabinet
So far I like the way things are going.

Hey pepe_silvia,

The progress is looking great;)
What stock do you plan to have?

Don't have to any plans for stock other than bringing the fish from my 65 gallon over.

They include
2 clowns
Hippo tang
Leopard wrasse
Black blenny
And 2 anthias

I plan to do a mix reef

At some point I'd like to get a few more fish maybe an angle fish or bristletooth tang

Thanks guys. This is my first big wood working project.

Glad it didn't turn out horrible

Making some progress during the week

Added a few rocks and some sand. The rest of the rocks will come out of my 65 gallon tank. Not sure if that will be enough. I'm not a fan on the minimalist aqua scape so I might be adding more at some point.

Trying my best to organize the many wires a tank produces.
