Hey everyone, I'm new to R2R and just wanted to share some pics of my 1year/3month old reef. I've been taking progression shots every three months. Here's what I have so far:

Great job!! Nice progression pics

Thanks, I recently put the shelf rock back in to bridge the two islands. I'll be updating soon with some new pic.

Awesome looking tank for sure!
Love the simplicity and sleek layout!

Thanks! I try to keep it as simple as possible.

Wow, awesome looking corals and tank! I notice you don't have many fish, is that because of the damsel lol?

Thank you, LOL, nah, he's actually very mellow (the damsel). I actually do have about 7 fish in there,(they are camera shy) but I wanted to establish all the coral first and now I am going to start focusing on fish. I'm thinking a nice show tang and maybe some anthias. Not sure yet

Beautiful tank and great job! Glad to have you as a member! :D

Tank is exceptional! Looks like you have some good growth.

Thanks, I'm glad I finally joined. There are many great tanks here (a lot of eye candy) and lots of good info.

Yes, simple but very elegance....I love it. Thanks for sharing and welcome to R2R.

That clam is growing so fast! Wowza! Very beautiful tank.

Thank you, YES! it is a super fast grower. I've always wondered how much calcium he actually takes up.

What are you using for lighting? Amazing tank progression

Thank you, I had started out with 400watt Hamilton 14k DE bulbs in two pendant fixtures. I was getting great growth, but wanted a little bit bluer look (and there is a very limited bulb selection for 400w DE). So, I switched to mogul based Radium 20k's. I now run two 400 watt radium 20k's supplemented with (4) T5 actinics. The tank is 30" deep so I needed something with a lot of punch to get to the bottom.

Thanks, growth has been steady so I have no complaints. I have be struggling a bit lately keeping Ca, alk, and Mg in check. I just think it's due to the growth I'm getting though, so I'm really not going to complain about it.

Tank is looking good. I like your scape. Great job! :)

Thank you, I'm really liking this site. I'm not sure why it took me so long to register. I recently put the shelf rock back in to bridge the two islands. I'm due for some new pics and am interested in opinions pro or con with or without it.

Thank you, I wanted to take progression shots from the very start. I've followed the maturation of other people's tanks and thought it was really cool to see.
