I have finally tested phosphate in a long time. With the Hanna checker ulr . I got 47ppb. My question is , is that high ? What’s really consider high? I feed roids twice a week& got two clowns. feed once a day.

I used to fight to keep mine down. I felt like the gfo was actually causing more harm than good. So I let it be. It pretty much sits between .14-.20 now. And everything looks amazing. My nitrates also hover about 4-6 so its a balancing act. Too low and i get cyano too high and i get algae. But when i chase the numbers i always wind up with problems. I let the system balance itself and things are good.

My point is how does your tank look? If it's in a pretty stage dont stress it.. let it be. If it has a problem then make an adjustment

My Phosphates are maintained around 0.25 - 0.3 ppm with GFO running. I do have some cyano/hair algae, but it is isolated. I'd say anything higher and you may get more problems.

The Mexican turbo snail is doing a great job keeping the hair algae gone!
