Ok guys, just got my biocube in today. I know there nothing to special but I like the new coralife's. Unboxed it, cleaned it out, added sand and water.
Being it will be primarily coral and live rock I have nothing in the back, using my display rock as bilogical filter. Going to pick my live rock up tomoro sometime The tank came with the protein skimmer which I know isnt too great but cant hurt anything by running it, especially if it was free. But so far this is it, going to add pictures as I go. Thanks for looking.

We all start somewhere. I find looking at an empty tank still enjoyable. Congrats on getting it wet. :-)

Stuck a small chunk of live rock in the tank with coralline I had laying in my live rock overstock over stock bucket (with powerhead) , I have the salinity at 33ppm, calcium at 451ppm, magnesium 1300ppm. Ph is 8.0 and the rest is untested right now. All the sand is live as well.

So this is it so far. Got a lot more to do

put the Kenya tree in the tank last night. He's doing pretty well. I have a small bag of bio rings in the back, as well as some chaeto.

Got my fire and ice rock today

Can't get water to clear up. Particles floating around.

I'm kinda not liking the biocube......at all. Anybody want this fire and ice rock? Mixed with a few dragon eyes?

Over 110 fire and ice polyps and about 40 dragon eyes. 5 lbs rock full of pods

I'm not liking the lights, the way the micro bubbles never stop, how the filtration let's everything through. It's just not what I expected.

I always thought a biocube to be a spendy little tank. Seems people get them & change the skimmer & lights.

I'm just not happy with it. I thought it would be what I was expecting. Which was more I suppose.

You might try running you water level higher than the default with the biocube, I find they only leave a few inches between the pump and water surface, the more distance the less micro bubbles I get. I hope you don't get too discouraged, the default lighting and setup can make a great tank, a lot of people mod their cubes but that's not always necessary.

I just bought a 14G biocube about the same time you did. My live rock is still curing at the moment. I've also had some micro bubbles on top. Didn't know thats not normal...I'm guessing there's no way to stop that right?

And the kits are on sale now at Dr Fosters $89.00 I believe.
