We’ve been out of the hobby for 3 or 4 years. Back then, we had several tanks, and were well involved with the hobby! There wasn’t a frag swap within 4 hours that we missed!

Then we relocated from Columbus, OH to Cincinnati. We had to move once into temp housing, then again into our house. We moved everything twice, into 2, 100g stock tanks plumbed together. Most stuff survived the moves, just to lose everything in a tragic heater malfunction once settled into the new house. We lost probably $10k worth of stuff. That started the end.

Fast forward, we now have 2 kids and our own business! More reason we haven’t gotten back in. But... my 3.5yo desperately wants fish. So we pulled a 14g bio cube out of the basement and set it up last night.

I’m hesitant here because the itch is back! I dream of watching corals open after receiving them in the mail, and the water isn’t even in yet! We definitely don’t have time or money to jump back in with both feet, but I know how this goes. A 14g doesn’t stay a 14g for long! [emoji23]

So here we go...

This biocube was modded way back then by myself, with LEDs that I’m sure are way out dated at this point but will do. Looks like one of the white LEDs is burned out, but I think we’re still safe. Maybe if I can find where all my LED stuff ended up after the move, I’ll fix it up.

We pulled out some dead rock and sand out of the basement, so it’ll be a good 4 weeks for a cycle.

We may add our MP10 (is that still a current power head?) but I’m debating if it’ll be too much flow.

I’m thinking a couple of clowns (the obligatory “Nemos” for the 3.5yo) and a couple of gobies. He says we need a blue and yellow fish, so maybe a neon goby and yellow clown goby. Probably a couple of shrimps too.

Welcome back to the hobby and to R2R! Starting something new is always great fun, especially with such a great helper as little ones are!
