14gallon biocube skimmer. Carbon filter?

i decided to add the biocube skimmer just to see how it worked. So far it looks perfect creating green water from the foam. Well at least everything I have read says that I'm on the right track. Anyway it's impossible to keep the stock carbon

filter. My questions are, do I need the filter? Should I just toss a carbon bad on top of the bio balls? Suggestions?

I have that skimmer too and it works for my 12g nanocube. I also use gfo in a phosban reactor and purigen.

Agreed about the bio balls. But remove them slowly and not all at once. Can you tell us about your tank?

Ok so we are saying no bio balls remove slowly? Got ya. Now what to I do with that space?

I have about a 1/4 container of dirty water in the skimmer a day is that normal or should I turn the air down?

Btw my tank is 6th month old and it's my 1st saltwater tank. It's a 14 gallon biocube with 10lbs live rock, clown, couple shrooms, scallop, fan, clean up crew, and eventually another fish/ softies. I have a biocube skimmer and an extra fan for circulation as far as extras.
