Hi I'm new to nano reefing but I've done tons of research. I plan on getting a 15 gallon tank kit. I was wondering if I should atmaticley upgrade to LED or wait. Please tell how and when to do maintence water changes ect. Here is my current plan for stocking this
20 lbs live rock
10 lbs live sand
1 carpenters flasher wrasse
1 firefish
1 yellow watchman goby
1 lawnmower blenny
1 occelaris clown
Corals
1 pompom pulsing xenia
2 or 3 zoathid colnies
1 mushroom
1 lemon tree coral
Cleanup crew
1 porcelain crab
Please give me suggestions for snail ect. For my cleanup crew
Any suggestions ect. Will be read and taken into accountant please be serious on this topic. Thanks SD O much. NR_S

Slim your fish list down. Less is better in a small setup. One fish I would remove is the carpenter wrasse as he will have zero swimming room.

Do water changes weekly and somehow figure out how you will be topping of rodi water.

Xenia will take over, it's like a weed.

What fish can take place of a carpenters flasher wrasse for color weirdness and personality

Stick with snails instead of crabs

I plan on also feeding it algae wafers. One heard they will eat almost anything and what fish could take place of the wrasse in colors and b uniqueness

I be done research on this crab and alot of people have had good luck with it, this also goes for the xenia, yes on this tank size. what about the LED s upgrade before or after?

Go with the Tailspot Blenny every one loves their personality.

20 pounds of rock may be too much, you want the filtration but need room for corals. Take a look at real reef rock, I have some in my tank, great stuff.

Rephrase the led question I'm not following you. When you setup your tank and cycle don't use your light.

My concern with the crab is it might attack a fish/eat them especially when it's big. To go with the yellow watchmen get a pistol shrimp. ..their awesome in a nano tank. I will stop and let someone else chime in, sorry to take over your thread.

Never mind about this question. I just looked at the aquarium kit I'm getting and it comes with LED already. Also do I use my filter when it's cycling? Will a tiger pistol be a good pair for my YWG? I have heard good and bad things about them, what would you say?

I would stick with the small candy pistol shrimp. The pistol may put sand on say a acan, or scolly, but my pistol has not created any issues and he's really cool. YWG may try to get through an overflow so keep an eye on that. I wrote a funny right up on a different forum about it.
