150 gallon SPS aquascape critique

Hi everyone,

What are your thoughts on this aquascape? 150 gallon SPS tank, 5’x2’x2’ are the tank dimensions.

The right island is 12” high and the left one 10” high.

It’s about 50 lbs for the left island and 35 lbs for the right island.

Going for the for minimalistic look.

Any criticism? Need more rock? Or do you like it?

The right side looks good. I would do the left side different. You tried to replicate the same look on both sides. The rock is different. IMO

So how would you do the left side different then? It is a different type of rock. Was thinking of adding a piece or two on the left side to make it taller and use the type of rock that I built the right side out of.

What if you move the middle rock down. The rock just to the left stand it upright.

IMO the twin arches look too unnatural to me. I would keep the island on the right but maybe add a small rock or two to the formation to give the appearance that it isn't man-made. The left side I would build a structure of a different height/formation. What matters is what you like though Good luck and post pics!

It looks good but maybe the left hand side structure needs a little work, but it’s your tank

Type in "Andre Silvestre reef" in any engine. He came from the planted freshwater tank scene. He simplifies achieving a focal point from a distance, then interesting things to keep you looking around when close up. Most importantly if you plan to keep the back glass clean and black, you can achieve a great sense of depth by leaving a sight wide to narrow between between your islands. Have fun with it.
