150 SCA Fish massacre

Hi all! I started cycling this Craigslist 55 gallon 6 months ago, around Thanksgiving. It’s 12” deep but the stand was 18” and the lip always bothered me. Shopped around for something bigger and was really liking the Red Sea 525, but due to financial constraints, I ordered an SC Aquariums 150. It should be delivered next week so I’m working on building it’s stand.

It’s getting squeezed under the tv, where the 55 is. It’s 36” counter high stand

New tank arrived yesterday. It looks nice. It is bigger than I imagined.

Moved the 55 to another wall and the 150 is in position. Ordered a baffle kit to make my own 75 gallon sump with a triton style refugium.

Haha. Kids love YouTube. I have 3 boys. 6 year old and twin 5 yos.

Here is exotic marine baffle kit in a 75 gallon marinleland triton sump. Waiting on a gate valve to finish plumbing. I don’t know how Lowe’s does not carry pvc gate valves...

Yes. I think it would have been several hundred dollars more to do the ghost overflow. Hopefully I don’t regret that decision later.

So I transfered all the fish and corals over to the new tank and everything died except one clown and some hermit crabs and snails. It was quite a massacre. Guess I’m starting from scratch.
