I have been searching and searching....and searching and have come to the conclusion that a 150 watt MH Mogul 20,000 k bulb does not exist.

I found a great deal on an all in one 150w hood/ballast. It comes with a HPS bulb which I don't need but will keep anyways if I ever decide to grow a tomato plant or something.

Does anyone know if they are made? I will even settle for a 14,000

I don't want to put anything larger than a 150 in there. Not sure if it will work anyways.

Thanks.

The only 150 SE MH bulb I ever heard of was the Iwasaki 65K. I ran them a long time ago. What ballast do you have? Many 175's will fire on certain 150watt ballasts. I have a bunch of magnetic ballasts designated 150/175.

Its a all in one system. The ballast is built in the hood.
I saw this at my local hydroponic store today. I was trying to see if I could find the right bulb for it before buying it.

Looks like I will just have to stick to my octogon MH lights. They work good but are heavy as hell and bulky.

Might be space enough to switch to a DE socket and then you can run a Radium. (Switch the ballast too if needed.)

I'm coming up short on detail for that ballast, BTW.

I'm not confident at all
that a 150-watt HPS ballast is compatible with reef-variety halide bulbs.

The upside is that $50 is a pretty great deal, and those Ultra Sun HPS 150 (12/Cs) bulbs are only about $1 each from sunlight supply. ;)

Grow some tomatoes!!!

(But I think use something else to reef.)

Yes I agree, I will have to bite the bullet and use a different setup.

Are you trying to use this to light the 100 Gal in your sig?

It would make an awesome refugium light, if you don't mind the operating costs!

I don't mind the operating costs. I was going to throw a Kessil H380 in there. I was also thinking about throwing in 2 Coral life 12" mini t5's for the fuge lighting. So many choices. the HPS would be the best option though. Might not even need to use the heater as much.

Yes. Was thinking about getting 3 maybe 4 of them to go along with my 4 t5's. Not sure on how long I will have everything on for though.

More than likely that HPS system would drive an Ushio 20k 175w. Would be an expensive gamble however.

Yep. That's what I'm thinking. I don't want to take that risk. I will spend the extra money for the proper equipment
