150G. Tank Build, Plywood..

so i went to play around a little with software to design the tank before i actual build it, so i could come with a material list.
what i would use as main material, came up with a plywood concept..
attached a PDF file with all the information.
Sadly the PDF was to big to attach it to the forums, so i put it on my website for you guys to download or view it..
Hope this will help you guys get ideas to make your own plywood tank..
This PDF shows 3/4" Plywood, 8' by 4' sheets

BTW i want to say if you do a project like this.
you still have to waterproof it after the build.
i advise Pond Shield
steps to waterproof what i use:
1 layer with a roller
let it dry for a day

sand paper it slowly with a 220 grid
in the corners put some fiber glass cloth with pond shield
make sure to do all corners
let it dry for another day

do the entire inside again with pond shield for a final layer

after that sand paper the area were u want to put the glass or acrylic
then silicone that area and put the glass in that
make sure to put some good weight on the glass or acrylic to make it solid

Hope you are going to use some framing for your plywood tank. The plywood alone will NOT hold all that pressure on its own.

actual... the plywood can..
but u can't just use any type... the correct type of plywood... at 3/4" thick works... its expensive tho.. like 50 bucks a plate..
i based my drawings on a bigger tank with same concept, i tho did at thicker plywood in my design..

in my design there is a double bottom, etc. etc. etc. so it is sturdy

I have a 110 that's made of 1" plate glass and weighs just a little more than a German Panzer. It's made of 3/4" plywood with only a single, 3" wide plywood strip for the backside, and 3 for the front.

I stand corrected ,
I read it as though you were building a 8' X 4' X 4' tank out of 3/4'' plywood.
I didnt read the file good enough to see that the tank was smaller than 4X8

8 by 4 by 4 ft would be a HUGE tank project, would need 4 by 4's as a frame and 3/4" glass
after doing some math.. that be a 950g tank.
and its fine Pepcrylic, most people overlook it fast.. then realize it later ..
