Hey friends,

I need help on getting my ammonia levels down

Here's a little backstory to the habitat

Live sand was added on 1-5-22
Live rock was added 1-6-22
Denitrfying bacteria was added 1-8-22

Ammonia rested at .5 on 1-14-22 and has stayed the same since. Tried to do a water change but that only changed my nitrate from 10 to 5.

Other levels are:
Salinity: 34
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5
High Range PH: 7.8

have we troubleshot this cycle already/is this your first post on it?

I may be confusing your tank with another person who has a similar user name

post pics of your tank, we need them to show working ratios of rock and its true status of live vs dry mainly

what brand of bottle bac did you use

you'll see from chemistry forum posts that nh3 vs nh4 readings off your test kit will change the way you attribute the ammonia problem bigtime.

also post an actual pic of your ammonia test, so we can appoximate nh3 vs nh4 from the picture of the color of the reading compared to the card
