165w Dsuny enough for softys and anemone?

Are Dsuny 165w leds enough to grow Softys and an anemone? Last time I was in the game metal halides and T5s were the go to so my LED knowledge related to reefing is non existent except what I've read recently. The tank setup I purchased has a single 165 Dsuny led on a 60gal cube. At this stage I only plan to run softys/polyps and an anemone. Im confident it'll be enough for the softys but the anemone I'm not 100% on. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Pardon the pun.

Your 165 has 55 three watt leds, that's where the 165 comes from (55x3= 165). I think you'll find the power supply is sends 120 watts to the fixture so the leds are running at about 2.2 watts each. That's the same as all the other 165 black box led fixtures except Mars Aqua which only runs at 100 watts. Either is very capable of growing any coral or keeping anemones. The light produced by your fixture is as good as the light produced by the very expensive fixtures, you just don't have (and didn't pay) for the fancy controls to do sunrise/sunset or 6 channels of color control or a fancy stylish look.

What Ron said is absolutely correct. I still use some black box fixtures on a frag tank with everything in it and plan to use one on a 100% sps nano. They will get the job done, just nothing fancy when doing it.

Yep it will work just fine. Black Box LEDs are not bad at all and they grow coral. Build quality and features are not there but you get what you pay for. You can use thhat light for now see how you like it and if you want save up for a nice light like AI or Radion.

Just to be perfectly clear, nice fixtures like the AI or Radion (or in my case, Photon V2+) don't make better light, they just have more controls for the human owners to play with. The corals and fish pretty much don't care if it's a Chinese Black Box or a very expensive super fixture.
