fill that sucker up with some vinegar water and all that coraline will be gone.

YUP.. soak it down with white vinegar and you will be good to go. I used a 4" long razor. those are best. Congrats on the 180! welcome to the 180 club. I lvoe the dims of the tank and wish My overflows were in the locations as yours.

Going to be nice just one thing Im going win all prizes at the frag swap but I will sale them to you lol

Thx all yea been spraying it with vinegar but when its dry a good razor gets it right off. I thought about filling it up also but this is going pretty easy. Been working on it few minutes at a time but haven't been able to dedicate much time to it.

Here's so far

"Fill it with vinegar solution" let it soak and the coraline will flake off

Congrats, Mike! I'm jealous. :) Did you get this off of craigslist? I noticed AceCool had one for sale.

It was adrians :) not to many scratches that I see either my other ank has far more lol
Nice Score Mike! You should have left the Petina and Filled that sucker up! That was years of Corraline growth (Many Years) Hope you have as good luck with that tank as Adrian did too...

Just out of curiosity, would there be any drawback to leaving the coralline on the back glass? I never scrape the back glass on my tanks and I like the coralline covering.

I personally would not think there is however it will use some calcium to stay alive.

Well, it's not alive now, is it? Since it is no longer alive, it may even become a source of calcium in the short term.

Yea I don't think there's any harm in leaving it but I just wanna clean it up make it look new :)

Finally got time today to run to store for vinager put 2 gallons in and fill to brim after pluggin the bulk heads up of course. That should be enough vinegar right?

2 gallons and 178 gallons of water. that seems pretty dilute to me. I just put straight stuff in a spray bottle and soaked it down that way.
