Anyone used this sump before? I'm super excited to get it!!!

Sounds exciting! IMHO though 2 MP40s are nowhere near enough flow in a standard 6' 180g. I would switch them out before you get them wet to MP60s or add a Gyre to the mix.

I have a gyre as well, I was told one gyre would be enough. and what if I added another mp40? and as far as switching them would BRS left me send them back and pay the difference?

In my experience BRS have been really good with returns.

If you use the 2 MP40s with the gyre your flow will be good though.

So, one side with the gyre and mp40 and the other side with an mp40? or should I return and get two mp60s?

Nice set up! Your lucky to be able to put a package like this together from the start. Please post pics as the build progresses

Oh don't worry. Tons and tons of pictures will be coming

4 mp40s... Good choice. I just built my 180 in April as well [emoji4]. And I'm only running 2 mp40s and it isn't enough flow I don't think. Can't wait to see this build with all them new goodies What are you doing for the stand?

Those MP60 are crazy amount of flow. I run two MP60 and one MP40 on my 180. The MP60 are top left and right at the front corner of the tank. About 6 inches from the surface of the water. Any closer and they will vortex the water about them and suck air. So keep that in mind when placing them. The MP 40 is at the back right top. The MP 60 are turned down as they are way to much flow at max. I run them in Anti-Sync Mode in Nutrient export mode for my SPS. I love these power heads.
