Hey,
Didn't realize there was a section to post on tank builds! I just wanted to share my progress with everyone. I had a 54 gallon corner FOWLR with a canister filter to start off, but after 6 months i decided to go for a 180 gallon tank. It has been up and running since October 2016 and i had to do an overflow box since the tank wasn't pre-drilled. Here is a picture early on.

I only had one AI hydra 52 light at the time, and some circulator pumps. Then i added more live rock.

And some more, plus a few more corals and fish, two AI prime lights on the side, and two maxspect gyre 250....

Ended up having to break the 36 pound rock in the center as it was too large.

So this became the new aquascape and here is a picture of where the tank is now.

I can't wait to watch things grow! I have a few more coral coming in next week that will probably finish off this tank. May do an unboxing video on my newly started reefing vlog on youtube. Here's a link to one of my updates. Thanks for reading!

Very nice! I love dedicated systems :D Remember to give some of them lots of room. The neon green with white tips frogspawn gets HUGE. Mine is almost 4 years old and I started with 1 head. It's the size or bigger than a soccer ball. I have given away even more than that too lol.

That's a 6" powder blue for perspective [emoji12]

Wow, that is huge and very beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I am hoping to have this type of long term success with my corals as well. Do you spot feed your frogspawn?

Good point! Space is going to be an issue down the road. If i do end up keeping all of my current corals, i am thinking that i will have to set up a frag tank to keep the display tank managable. This may even give me an excuse to try a drop-off tank :D

Thank you and you're welcome! When my frogspawn, hammers and candy canes were small I did spot feed them. Now that they're big I just let then catch whatever is in the water column. I feed lrs reef frenzy, mysis, Cyclops (they love this), frozen rotifers and dry powdery foods like reef chili, reef roids, reef bugs complete 2x per week. I have a mixed reef (mostly sps) so there's something for everyone :D

I love your torches! I have no room for their long feeders :(
A frag tank is definitely a good idea. They seem to really take off after about 10 heads lol

Good to know! I think i am going to expand my selection of food as well to some of the ones you feed. I always hear such good things about them.
Thanks! Their long feeders are really interesting. Ive never even felt a sting from anything in the tank until i added the yellow tipped aussie torch. It packs a noticable sting when you brush up against it.
Do you have any full shots of your tank?

Oh yeah I had an Aussie gold torch in the past and got stung. Unfortunately it was the first to go when my tank contracted brown jelly disease. I never got another one. Now all I have are two hammers, frogspawn and a Duncan. Here are some pics of the 180
