Hello I am setting up a 180 and want to do a predator tank and was wondering about some stocking ideas. It will have a 75 gallon sump and half of that will be a refugium and marine pure blocks to help reduce nutrients. Looking for compatability for triggers eels and puffers. Thanks

My first 5 years of sw tanks were fowlr.

My stocking was:

Blonde naso tang
Picasso trigger
Porcupine puffer
Lunar wrasse
Saddle back butterfly
Black back butterfly
Sharp tail eel

Any issues with ich with those?

Of course. However I do not believe in qt, so take that how you will. Never have lost fish in 11 years due to not qt’ing.

Ich, velvet, etc are much more common these days than back then.

If your new to the hobby however I would suggest qt’ing all your livestock first to observe and treat accordingly if necessary to avoid fish death and money lost.

I've had a 125 gallon reef tank for a few years but I want one dedicated to predators lol so I don't have to worry about them killing expensive corals but I'm with you on that I've never quarantined any of my fish I have in my reef tank either but have never had them get ich either.

Give us an idea of what you like, my key to keeping predator tanks is to not overcrowd. A couple of triggers, an angel, a tang, a puffer, and the eel.

Was thinking a Koran angel, blue tang, sailfin tang, blue throat trigger and an eel, maybe a loin fish

Miniatus Grouper!
Threadfin Snapper!

I had both and loved them :-)

I think that would be appropriate :-)
I had a Veil tail in a 20 for 2 years. And a Louti and a Miniatus in a 55 gal FOWLR. You should be good :-)
