Starting a project. Getting a 180 gallon tank and stand of CL this weekend. Going to reseal it, and build a sump for it. Will post pictures from beginning to end. I have 2 lionfish that will be going in it, and am planning on also getting a banded cat shark. Any tips for resealing?

I assume your not splitting the seams but rather just removing the silicone that is inside and laying new beads in place of it. Just make sure you get all the old silicone cleaned up and out before trying to lay new beads over. This will ensure you get a bood bond. Alot of people jsut use their finger to smear in the new silicone but I find it is nicer looking if I use a rubber glove stretched tighly over the finger. This will give a nice smooth bead.

Oh and before putting any new silicone down tape off the area you don't want to have silicone on. While the silicone is still wet you can remove the tape and leaves a nice clean line.

You should get a big ol' eel. Zebra morays are the most docile so you won't have to worry about being bitten. You don't want to be bitten by a moray. They have bacteria kinda like the kamodo dragon, but not as bad. Make sure to take lots of pictures and post them often!

I already knew about the tape, and glove. But thanks. And NO I'm not getting any eels. They are too hard to keep them from escaping and I have two small Chihuahuas. I do NOT need to rush them into the hospital because they were attacked by an eel. I will have a tight fitting lid, but I don't want to chance it.

Sooooo get puffers in the tank. Also another good fit is box fishes. A cow fish would be awesome.. not huger predators but great color thrown in and still eat meaty foods..

puffers will devour snails and small fish but with everything else they should be great.

I don't want to put puffers in with my lions. I've heard some horror stories of them attacking lions. I don't want to chance it. My lions are my babies lol.

i have a longhorn cowfish, fuzzydwarf lionfish, spotted bamboo shark, snowflake eel, 6 damsels, 2 oce clowns, 1 skunk clown, 1 clarkii clown, bicolor angel, starry trigger, starry blenny, blue/green chromis, in my 60x30x30 mixed predator reef tank

Will be following along!! Can't wait to see some pics! :D
