I am beginning to upgrade my 90 gallon reef, 220 gallon system. I purchased a brand-new 180 a few months ago and I'm finally going to start building it. The purpose of the system is to reduce my energy costs, give my fish more room to grow, and get rid of some pests that I currently have in the system. I also plan to move my seahorses to their 150 gallon home that I built a few months ago.
I have ordered 250 pounds of base rock, hydraulic cement, and the DC pumps. I also have two MP 40 Quiet Drives I am going to utilize on the system. I will be using my Lifereef skimmer, Geo calcium reactor, and 60 inch 8 bulb T5 fixture.
I have posted some pictures of my system below and will update as to progress continues.
