It may fly, but personally I would put a center brace in

Look strong enough to me....
Its the sideways movment you do not want to happen...
As long as that under control then it should be fine.
6 x 2 - weight over the corners... perfect.

Probably OK. I would put a center brace in the back though. That way would add some strength and still give you all the access up front.
