My 180g FOWLR has finished cycling and I am trying to finalize my stocking list so I can start purchasing some occupants.

My current list is listed below. I was hoping to get some input if I have some compatibility issues that I have overlooked. I have also listed them in what I was thinking would be a good stocking order. I am also open to suggestions that might work better.

Zebra Moray Eel or 2x Snowflake Eels or Snowflake Eel and Chain-link Eel
Dog Face Puffer
Banana Wrasse

Niger Trigger
Bursa Trigger

Magnificent Foxface or Foxface Lo
Lemon Peel Angel & Flame Angel

Harlequin Tusk

Large showpiece Angel ??

The rock work has mortar in spots to keep things solid. I have various pass through's and caves. I was going to use put some 3 or 4" PVC piping behind the rock to give the eel(s) some extra caves to hide in. I have fitted screens on the top right and left and fitted egg crate in the middle. I was going to get some clips to keep the screens in place for nosy jumpers.

Sounds like a cool bunch. I'd keep an eye on the trigger fish as their personalities can vary quite a bit.... And the eels can really push on a screen so better to err on the side of really securing the screens tightly. They seem particularly good at finding where two screens meet...

One marine beta would be a good addition

Did some research and met with my local fish store to change the stocking a little

Current Stocking -

2 x Red Coris Wrasse
Dog Face Puffer
Small Humu Rectangle Triggerfish
Dwarf Cherub Angel
Red Diana Hogfish

On order -
2x Snowflake Eels
Small Niger Trigger

2x Banana Wrasse
Harlequin Tusk

Lemon Peel Angel & Flame Angel

Magnificent Foxface - When more algae is present

Marine Beta

Large showpiece Angel ??

I would not try multiples of the same species of wrasse.

@eatbreakfast and @evolved , what do you guys think of mixing this Coris, Diana hog, banana, and tusk in a 180?

Keep in mind how large that puffer and Niger trigger get. What full-size angel are you thinking about? There are lots that won't work for a 180, but a few that probably would.

+1 Usually never works out well...

I'm not too worried about the mix, just the "pairs" really.

OK so if I am understanding right. The issue would not be with having the Red Coris, Banana and Tusk, but having the 2 of each Red Coris and Banana?

What about just having the 2 red coris and not doing the others? Would it be fine if they are the only wrasse? Or is having 2 going to cause some issues either way?

Two of the same species won't tolerate each other when mature. They all eventually turn male and fight

I am not fully set on the angel yet. I would love to have one but it would be a smaller one. I was thinking something size wise like a Blue Gridled. Live Aquaria says they are good for a 180. But I might just stick with the 3 dwarfs instead and if I can maybe add a 4th.

That's my feelings, yes.

Right - that's the concern there.

Things are going good. Everyone is getting along and haven't had any issues. Have been on some lists for my small snowflakes and a small Niger at my local store. But after talking to my lfs, I am waiting until things calm down. Working on getting some skins built for the tank right now. I have them being attached with magnets but I want a little more structure to them

Current Stocking -

2 x Red Coris Wrasse
Dog Face Puffer
Small Humu Rectangle Triggerfish
Dwarf Cherub Angel
Red Diana Hogfish

Next Stocking to go into the QT tank -
2 small snowflakes
1 small niger trigger

Followup QT team -
Magnificent Foxface or Foxface Lo
Lemon Peel Angel & Flame Angel

hows the 2x coris wrasses doing? I really want one if i go FOWLR.

I have not seen any issues with them. From what I have read I think if they are going to have issues its going to be more as they age a little. However, my LFS has a customer tank that has a pair of them and they have been going for a couple years.

I have the intention if they start getting feisty with each other I will re-home one back at my LFS. I do plan on adding a few other wrasse species, like the banana and the tusk. I think it really just depends on the fish and how satisfied everyone stays with food. I work from home so I feed them 2-3 times a day so that may be helping keep the aggression under control
