18h heat pack too much for shipping?

The weather got colder so i switch over to 18h heat pack(hand warmer) one of my shipment didnt make it(got hot). Anyone here uses 18h and is working for them? I usually put a good layer of newspaper between the heatpack and the corals

Never shipped corals, but perhaps @BoomCorals who is familiar with cold wisconsin weathers like I am could shed some insight for you

The problem with hand warmers is that they get too hot, as you discovered. There are specific packs made for shipping livestock so that they don't get too hot, but hold a longer temp, I'd invest in those. I use 40 hour heat packs, they are made to not get too hot, yet maintain the temperature for an extended period of time. Something like this here: https://shipyouraquatics.com/shop/heat_packs/product
