Bought the Aquaforest 1L carbon package at my local LFS but its actually 536grams.

1ml 1 = 1 gram?

Or

1 fl. Oz. = 28.57grams

So this 35.19 fl. Oz. package should be 1040g or aka 1L

No?

The carbon sold at my LFS has no protective seal, it’s just a screw open lid. They have the rox 0.8 stuff in big plastic container. I have always wondered if anyone skims off the top, whether that be employee or customer. I mean just open it up scoop it out and back on the shelf. Can you confirm the bag hasn’t been opened ? If so then I’d contact the manufacturer rather than LFS because they wouldn’t be able to help you I don’t believe just the company itself

Hello!

You are confounding volume and mass. 1 liter of carbon should not weight 1kg. I assume you are trying to check if you receive the amount you bought, for that you will need to pour the carbon in a 1 liter container and check if it fills it whole.

Activated carbon? I'm guessing if you pour it into a 1 litre jug it will be almost a litre, baring in mind all of the air gaps etc.

If it was freshwater and not carbon, yes.

I'm trying to figure out the "dose" amount...
So 100ml/27g I have 45g so 166.66ml.

So I should be filling my cup to 150 ish ml to have the correct amount?

Thats what I did in the end.

Why are they selling it has 1L and not by weight? It's not a liquid.
If someone was selling 535 grammes at 20 quid, and another selling the same stuff but 1000 mls at 20 quid, which one would you buy?

Oh, that makes much more sense.

Yes, 166.66ml is right. If it is easier for you, you can go with 90 grams, which is what the 166.66ml weights
